PERGOLESI: STABAT MATER / J. S. BACH: MATTHAUS-PASSION

On April 19, 2025, on Holy Saturday, the audience will have the opportunity to experience one of Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s most remarkable musical works, the Stabat Mater. This Catholic hymn evokes the sorrows of the Virgin Mary at the moment of Christ’s crucifixion. Alongside the extraordinary emotional depth of this baroque masterpiece, J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, another significant work from the baroque period, will also be featured. After a detailed portrayal of the story of the crucifixion, we will be filled with musical experiences, preparing ourselves for the celebration of the Resurrection.

At the concert, we will have the pleasure of hearing the interpretation of Diana Ichim, a harpsichord artist, in her unique arrangement!
