The spring season of Kálnoky Castle Concerts, entitled Spring Stories, awaits the audience with a new musical treat. On April 11, 2026, from 7:30 PM, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's iconic Requiem will sound in a new tone, by candlelight, in the wine cellar of the Kálnoky Castle in Micloșoara.

During the evening titled Shadows of Mozart: Requiem reimagined, the work will be performed by Diana Ichim on harpsichord and Előd Gábor on violin. This chamber music transcription allows listeners to get very close to the inner layers of the composition. The dialogue between the harpsichord and the violin amplifies the spiritual dimensions of the work, while the acoustics of the cellar lend intimacy to the performance.

The concert is part of the spring season of the Kálnoky Castle Concerts series. The trademark style of the series, classical instrumentation, sensitive reinterpretations, and chamber music intimacy are defining features again this year. The organizers' goal is for the music to turn into contemporary stories within the historical walls, offering a true presence and an opportunity to slow down in a fast-paced world.

The concert venue, the castle's wine cellar, is not just a concert space, but a living historical environment where music and architectural heritage form a natural unity. The timeless atmosphere is completed every time by an elegant, candlelit buffet dinner, allowing attendees to immerse themselves in both musical and gastronomic pleasures.

Additional concert of the season: Continuing the Spring Stories series, the final concert on May 9 will feature modern film scores and neoclassical piano music performed by Botond Szőcs and Apor Tóth Györbiró in the concert Cinematic Dreams: Tiersen · Einaudi · Vanzo.
